When did you start your journey?
The journey from the Village to being a Global Wellness Ambassador started in the year 2004-2005. I won the Indian distributorship from Remy Laure, France for marketing beauty products in India. With relentless willpower, hard work and result-oriented focus, my efforts paid off. I got invited by more global brands in France and Germany to accept new distributorship of premium products. In a brief span I made a mark and was honoured with the title: 'Global Wellness Ambassador '.
How has your journey been so far?
I hail from a tribal area in the Northwestern part of Maharashtra called Nandurbar where exposure was limited for girls and we did not have much encouragement to venture out on our own. At the age of 14, I was attending my cousin’s wedding and tried my hands on makeup which turned out exceptionally well. That moment was the beginning of a new dream for me and I decided that I wanted to be part of the beauty business. Few years down the line I got married and came to Mumbai for better educational opportunities for my children along with a hidden dream to pursue a life in the beauty industry. Getting an initial break was a huge challenge. Mumbai was a new city, and I didn’t know anyone here. It was a major change for me from my rural lifestyle to the urban one. Those days were tough! I found it difficult to enter and understand the workings of the beauty industry. In the year 2004, I came across Rémy Laure, a French skincare line and international brand. Interestingly, I was chosen to represent the brand in India and this was the turning point in my life. There has been no looking back since then.
What is your advice to people seeking a wholesome approach to wellness in daily lifestyle?
I strongly advocate the significance of living well. I believe that wellness is not a luxury but an innate and basic need. With this very concept, I initiated the GLOBAL WELLNESS DAY celebration in India, which has now become a widespread concept throughout India with more than ten lakh followers. Recently I introduced "Digital Detox Day" by conducting health related activities, beauty conferences and workshops, games related to health education etc for which I received strong support from Honorable Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Shri Ashok Gehlot and the then Honorable Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Devendra Fadnavis.

You train aspiring women who want to become self dependent. Tell us how you do it?
In 2011, I started a beauty and skill education institute called Olwe .Through Olwe, I managed to empower the youth of rural India. I became a role model to thousands by setting an example with my own transformational story. Today, my vision is to reach out to even more tribal and rural areas, enable transformations and to provide opportunities where one is finically independent.
Congratulations, you got honoured in France where you got certified , please share some details?
Yes, I was the first Indian Wellness Personality to be awarded a Doctorate in the Wellness Industry to be awarded with the Philosophiae Doctor Honoris Causa by Sorbonne University, France.
